Well, look no further! Come along to my free to attend Book Reading/Signing for Walking into Alchemy.
I will be visiting the UK for a few days in August - after several years of cancellation, I will be giving some Shakespeare lectures in Stratford-upon-Avon, and my book reading, which was supposed to be a book launch, will finally take place!
I have very fond memories of Malvern as I grew up there. I remember my days working for the RSRE, which became the DRA and then Qinetiq; I was there for 12 very fascinating years, from 1982-1994. Perhaps you remember me; if so, please come along and say hello!
After which, I qualified to become a curator, which was also fascinating; I was fortunate!
But in 2015, I had a bit of bad luck I was made redundant, but I was also lucky because I met my partner, and we had the chance of a lifetime - we relocated to Austria.
Having for the first time in my life more time than I was used to, I began to walk, and this one walk led to 51 more walks, the same one every week for a year, in the hills and mountains right outside my door and that year of walking became my book Walking into Alchemy: The Transformative Power of Nature.
I'm popping over from Austria to give a book reading at the Coach House Theatre in Grange Road Malvern to talk about my book Walking into Alchemy: The Transformative Power of Nature on the 28th of August. So, what is Walking into Alchemy about? Well, it's about walking in Austria through all four seasons, nature, flora, fauna, art, Shakespeare, music and, of course, love!
I am really looking forward to my visit and I am delighted that the Coach House Theatre is hosting my book reading; it is a really wonderful venue and a great resource in the area. I have a long history with the Coach House Theatre and Malvern Theatre Players, as they have performed several of my plays over the past 15 years.
I will also be talking about my next book about my father Leonard Eason. My father lived in Malvern until his death in 2015. He was at RAF Klagenfurt, about 45 minutes from where I now live in Austria. He gave me his war diaries and watercolours in 2014. He was a professional artist, and my next book will be about his adventures.
My event is free, so please book a place and come along! Call 01684 892277 or visit the website www.malvern-theatres.co.uk
Thank you!
